Prosopis. (honey Mesquite). Only one or two of the Mesquite family grow large enough to build a guitar out of. I think it’s a fascinating wood. Luthiers sometimes call it Texas Rosewood. Depending on how it’s braced it can sound like Rosewood or Mahogany. It is a very hard wood, so it can be sanded quite thin which makes the guitar project well and have surprising sustain.
