Figured Hawaiian Koa

This is Acacia Koa. It only grows in the Hawaiian Islands and is getting rare and consequently expensive. Bookmatched sets like this can make a lovely guitar. The initially bright sound mellows after a year or so and sounds more like mahogany than rosewood.
